Location a Major Factor in Concession Trailer Business Success

09 Feb

The phrase, “location, location, location,” may be somewhat cliché when it comes to describing one of the keys to entrepreneurial success in our society. But without a target customer base and having convenient access to a physical location, the chances of a business achieving any level of prosperity are greatly diminished.

Picking a Prime Spot for a Concession Trailer

In the mobile concession trailer business, it’s no secret that location is of utmost importance. Some of the best situations where a mobile concession vendor can find success include busy office parks where building occupants only have time for a quick bite or don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for a meal. Construction sites where hungry workers will line up for lunch and stop by for a glaze pop, soda, chips or a bag of caramel corn throughout the day is another good location.

Sporting events are also prime territory. Soccer and baseball complexes see hundreds of people coming and going on a warm summer day. Eventually the aroma from the hot dog grill or the popcorn machine will draw many of them in.

If a concession trailer owner can gain access to a high school football stadium on Friday nights, they will have a captive audience. There will always be fans that will skip dinner and head straight to the game from work. Upon their arrival at the field, they will immediately aim themselves toward the pizza warmer or the nacho dispenser.

One major benefit of owning a food trailer is the flexibility it offers in regard to choosing vending locations. Of course, permits, licenses and the occasional inspection are all part of the business. But having the ability to quickly react to a newly-opened area or becoming the exclusive food vendor at various high-traffic spots will make it well worth all the effort.
